Pret-A-Porter Jewels was born out of a simple frustration — the inability to find jewellery that felt genuinely personal. Not mass-produced. Not a compromise. The founder, Lori, looked everywhere. She wanted distinctive pieces she could wear to work on Monday, out for coffee on Wednesday, and out on the town on Saturday — without changing a single thing. Pieces that moved with her life rather than waiting on a shelf for permission to be worn. She couldn't find them. So she made them.

The response was immediate and impossible to ignore. Friends asked where she got her necklace. Acquaintances wanted to know if she could make something similar for them. Strangers in restaurants stopped her mid-meal to ask if her jewellery was for sale. That overwhelming, unsolicited demand became the foundation of Pret-A-Porter Jewels — a brand born not from a business plan, but from a woman wearing jewellery that made people stop and ask.

Today, Pret-A-Porter Jewels is a Toronto-based handcrafted jewellery brand specializing in natural gemstones, freshwater pearls, horn, and Italian leather. Every piece is designed and crafted by Lori, who pours genuine intention into each creation. Her partner Steve handles the business side of things and captures the beauty of each piece through his photography — and occasionally sparks a new addition to the collection with an idea too good to ignore.

The collection is organized around four distinct worlds, each with its own character and personality.

Luminous Every Day is the heart of the collection — natural gemstones and sterling silver in pieces designed for the woman who wants to look remarkable on an ordinary Tuesday. Modern Girl's Pearls is a reimagining of what pearl jewellery can be. Freshwater pearls in irregular Biwa shapes, luminous coin pearls, peacock pearls that shift from purple to green to blue depending on the light.
